Nicole Oglesby (Co-Founder, Producer, Playwright) is a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she received a BA in English and Theatre & Dance with a playwriting focus. Nicole’s plays have been produced in UT’s Lab Theatre, the Cohen New Works Festival, and several seasons of UT’s Bridge Festival. Nicole seeks to access rich emotional insights about hero journeys which often incorporate poetic language and mythic qualities to create theatre that is simultaneously playful and extremely cathartic. She writes about the emotional and physical journeys of women because they have often been de-legitimized or silenced altogether and generates experiences that awaken, inspire, and heal.

Marian’s work was recognized at the College of Fine Arts Commencement ceremony in May where she was named the Spotlight Student for the Theatre & Dance Department, and was praised for her work onstage and in the classroom. Marian seeks to continue creating inherently theatrical, smart and accessible plays that features substantial and complex female characters.
Katy Matz (Producer, Dramaturg) graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in the Spring of 2016 with a Bachelors of Arts in English and Linguistics, focusing her studies on the impact of language and culture in literature and drama. Hailing from the rich cultural region of the Rio Grande Valley, Katy finds inspiration in stories shared by the subverted, mistreated, and forgotten, and sees the importance in these stories being told. With an interest in modern and contemporary literature, and a soft spot for non-fiction historical writing, Katy hopes to provide a strong foundation as dramaturg for the team of artists at the Heartland Theatre Collective.
